Ma’an al Salmi

Ma’an al Salmi currently serves as a Senior Business Analyst with Muscat National Development and Investment Company (“ASAAS”), which is a relatively new Omani investment holding company with an initial capitalization of approximately $260 million. Its mandate is to assist the Sultanate with efforts to diversify the Omani economy. It is developing projects in tourism, logistics, public transport and renewable energy.
In January 2016, it announced that it had secured a new air services operator license by the Omani Public Authority for Civil Aviation which will result in ASAAS establishing Oman’s first low-cost air carrier. Previous engagements include assisting P3 lngenieurgesellschaft, a German engineering consultancy firm with local project management representation in Omani.
These efforts included assisting Munich Venture Partners, a German venture capital firm with almost $300 million under management, in developing their strategy to expand into Oman and the MENA region. Mr. Al Salmi will be instrumental in assisting management in driving Rainmaker strategy of bringing water production to numerous communities scattered throughout Oman that are in need of pragmatic and cost-effective water solutions.
